She lives with her single mother who goes out of her way to ensure that the family meets their daily needs. The mother runs a small kiosk where she sells traditional vegetables. Due to her small income, she sleeps in a kiosk while the PWID and her siblings live with a friend. Beatrice was first exploited sexually in 2006 by a street boy who lived near their home. The street boy used to give her 3 shillings and the PWID would agree to all his demands. She got expectant but lost the child while she was six months pregnant due to an accident. No action was taken against the street boy. The PWID is still being exploited by neighbours where they live. The mother is not usually home and there is no one to look after her. The mother agrees that she often gets stories that the child is always being exploited sexually. The PWID fell ill and was diagnosed with an STI when the HR took the PWID to hospital. The PWID still has a bad odour signs that she may be still being exploited. On a recent incident, the PWID was left at home and when the sister returned her knocks at the door were not being responded to. She went called a friend and when the door was finally opened, there was a man stranded in the house. When asked what had happened, Beatrice replied that the man had asked her to remove her pant before he raped her. The man was arrested and taken to the police post. Betty was taken to Nairobi Women’s Hospital for treatment.
