KSMH is very active in the area of advocacy and sensitization of the various sectors of Kenyan society to bring to light the plight of the intellectually disabled and their challenges. Only by such education can the high level of stigma associated with intellectual disability be reduced. The sensitization will also enable the various sectors to understand intellectual disabilities better and will create pressure for better policies and laws for the intellectually disabled. The advocacy and sensitization is done at many levels and in many forms. The following pictures illustrate the scope of KSMH’s work in this field.
