Poverty is a fact of life in Kenya with the government acknowledging that one in two Kenyans is living below poverty line of earnings of less than $1 per day. This poverty puts extra pressure on parents with intellectually disabled persons and their survival becomes of paramount importance. KSMH helps parents to set up income generating projects and activities so that they are able to look after their intellectually disabled children better. The income generating activities are individual as well as group oriented.
