Kenya Society for the Intellectually Handicapped is a membership organization. The members of the society are parents of intellectually disabled children, persons with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities, caregivers, professionals in the area of intellectual disabilities and prominent members of public sympathizing with the plight of the intellectually handicapped. The parents make up the largest group accounting for some 80% of the total membership. KSMH works with parents, forming parent’s groups, initiating income generating activities, informing and educating them etc.
